Your spiritual connection with bread is on point. Unfortunately, our spiritual lives have become a commodity much like bread. Over the last few centuries, we have modified grains and baking methods to the point where bread is no longer nutritious. In fact, it could be poisoning us! We have made our connection to God be what we feel like it should be instead of what God intended.

I love the comparison….. I think I’ll grab my starter and bake some bread!

Agreed, Doug. Impossible to find it a store. Homemade bread is the bomb. Nutritious and delicious!

My new thing with bread is using einkorn flour. I am going to try to return to ancient grain and ancient leavening methods using sour starters. I haven't built a wood fired oven yet, but who knows! :) BTW.....that rustic loaf looks soooo good!

Erin ordered some special flour just the other day. I'll ask her what it is. Supposedly, it makes a big difference, though it's hard to imagine that bread getting any better!

https://www.theprairiehomestead.com/2021/12/how-to-use-einkorn-flour.html This is a really good overview of Einkorn, why and how to use it. I could go on and on about this so I promise to stop. But again.....I really appreciate your take on this subject. Thank you.

And a sandwich on lousy bread while fly fishing? Well, it’s still good.
